Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain dental veneers have become very advanced over the years, and it’s now possible to apply them without sacrificing too much of the affected tooth’s natural structure.

They can improve a number of dental issues, both aesthetic and functional in nature.

In fact, porcelain veneers can even reverse the effects of aging and perfect natural beauty. Dental veneers are very thin layers of porcelain shells (0,3-0,8mm) that are made to cover the surface of the teeth to enhance their look.

They are used to fix teeth that are discoloured, chipped or broken or irregularly shaped. They are also used to cover the gaps between the teeth.

Crowns

Teeth that have been damaged, worn, or suffered major decay can be totally restored to their original beauty and functionality with a crown. Dental crowns, known also as ‘caps’, are ideal not only for enhancing the appearance of a damaged tooth, but for protecting the remaining root and tooth soft tissue as well. Crowns are made of porcelain, zirconium or a combination of these materials. Teeth crowns are also used to cover discoloured fillings and to add strength to a weakened tooth.

Unlike dental veneers, in the case of crown we need to remove larger amount of tooth so that the crown will cover the entire periphery of the tooth but the procedure is exactly the same as the veneer preparation steps.

Dentures

Dentures are custom-made replacements for missing teeth and can be taken out and put back into your mouth. While dentures take some getting used to and will never feel the same as natural teeth, today’s dentures are natural looking and more comfortable than ever. Their main disadvantage is the stability in the mouth especially in cases where the bone resorption is too severe. In these cases, we offer the option of placing two dental implants that will work as an anchor and the denture will click on them.

Composite bonding

Composite bonding is a minimally invasive cosmetic dental procedure that involves the application of a tooth-colored composite resin to enhance the appearance and function of teeth. This technique is commonly used to repair chipped, discolored, misshapen, or slightly misaligned teeth, as well as to close small gaps.

Advantages:

• Non-invasive: Requires little to no removal of natural tooth structure.

• Quick and Efficient: Can be completed in a single visit.

• Aesthetic Improvement: Enhances the smile by correcting minor imperfections.

• Cost-effective: More affordable than veneers or crowns.

Considerations:

• Durability: While strong, composite resin is not as durable as porcelain and may require touch-ups over time.

• Staining: Composite material can discolor over time, especially with frequent consumption of staining foods and drinks.

Dental bridge

A dental bridge is a fixed prosthetic solution designed to replace one or more missing teeth by spanning the edentulous space and anchoring onto adjacent natural teeth or dental implants. It restores both functionality and aesthetics while preventing the complications associated with tooth loss, such as bite misalignment. A dental bridge is a well-established, functional, and aesthetic solution for tooth replacement. While it remains a preferred option for many patients, alternatives such as dental implants should be considered based on individual oral health conditions, long-term prognosis, and patient preferences.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are used to restore both the function and appearance of missing teeth, providing a more permanent and durable solution compared to traditional dentures or bridges. Implants can help preserve the structure of the jawbone, prevent bone loss, and improve the patient's ability to chew and speak effectively. The implant process generally involves a few stages: placement of the implant post, healing time for osseointegration, and finally, the attachment of a crown or other restorative piece.

White fillings

Also known as composite fillings, white fillings are a plastic material designed to build up and match the color of your teeth.

There are many reasons why most dental patients choose white fillings over metal fillings. The mercury in amalgam fillings is sometimes viewed as potentially toxic, and many patients feel that the white composite fillings represent a more advanced technology. Composite fillings are also less likely to contribute to tooth fracture compared to the metal (amalgam) fillings. However, by far the most common reason for choosing white fillings is aesthetic because we can perfectly mimic the natural tooth color.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental treatment designed to lighten the color of the teeth and remove stains or discoloration. This treatment can improve the appearance of the teeth by making them appear brighter and more radiant.

Root canal treatments

Endodontics deals with the health of the tooth pulp and tissues surrounding the root of the tooth. The tooth pulp contains nerves and blood vessels, and, like any other bodily tissue, these can become diseased or injured and unable to repair themselves.

Endodontic treatments include root canal treatment (root filling) and root end surgery.

This treatment involves removing damaged or dead nerves and blood vessels in the root of the tooth that have become infected due to decay or trauma. The space left is then filled with a material that seals the tooth and keeps it functioning as before. Endodontic therapy saves the tooth and prevents further infection and pain.

Conditions that are treated within endodontics include the treatment of nerve damage, abscesses, cysts of dental origin and trauma.

Teeth cleaning and airflow

Teeth cleaning is also known as scaling and root planning. Scaling involves removing plaque and tartar from the surface of the teeth and from the pocket area between the teeth and gums.

A professional dental cleaning twice a year can improve your oral health, increase the longevity of your teeth in the mouth and enhance the appearance of your smile.

At Gnathion Dental Clinic, we use ultrasonic scaler to remove the tartar and AIR-FLOW® to remove the external staining from the teeth.

The AIR-FLOW® method delivers a controlled stream of fine sodium bicarbonate particles to the tooth surface via water spray and compressed air. It is painless, and since the powder taste is masked with lemon, cherry or strawberry, it is more pleasant for the patient in comparison with traditional methods.

It is used to remove dental plaque, soft plaque and discolorations (for example, from cigarettes, coffee and black tea).

During a dental cleaning, you’ll also receive diagnostic and preventive services from your dentist as well as any needed educational information.
